Load combinations
Use Load combinations to change settings and run analysis for all selected load combinations.

The dialogue contains two buttons, each opening a separate window with additional settings.
Calculation options…

Non-linear elastic analysis (NLE)
- Maximum iteration number – sets the maximum number of iterations allowed for non-linear elastic analysis. Default: 30
Plastic analysis (PL)
- Default load step in % of the total load – starting load step size. Default: 20
- Minimal load step – smallest allowable load step. Default: 2
- Keep reduced load step after it has been reduced by the solver – keeps the lowered step size for the next steps. Default: Checked
- Global tolerance value – convergence tolerance. Default: 1
- Maximum equilibrium iteration number – sets maximum solver iterations per step to reach the equilibrium in this step. Default: 50
- Number of layers in elasto-plastic shells – number of layers used for shell plasticity. Default: 10
- Calculate stresses and strains – enables stress–strain calculation for plastic analysis. Default: Checked
Non-linear soil (NLS)
- Consider Mohr–Coulomb criteria – enables Mohr–Coulomb plasticity. Default: Cheched
- Initial load step – starting load step for the soil analysis. Default: 10
- Minimal load step – smallest allowable step. Default: 10
- Volume ratio of non-linearly active elements in one step – maximum allowed percentage of newly activated non-linear elements per step. Default: 5
- Volume ratio of plastic elements in one step – maximum allowed percentage of elements entering plastic state per step. Default: 5
Cracked section analysis (Cr)
- One load step in % of the total load – load step size for cracking calculations. Default: 20
- Maximum iteration number – sets the iteration limit for cracked section analysis. Default: 30
- Allowed stiffness change error – allowable stiffness change tolerance. Default: 2
Setup by load combinations…

In this table you can select which load combinations to include in the calculation and which analysis types apply to each combination. You can select the relevant analysis types by clicking in the cell.
Columns
- No. – id number of load combination
- Type – load combination type
- Load combination – load combination name
- Calc – if checked enables the calculation of the load combination. If unchecked the load combination will be skipped in the calculation
- CS – include in construction stages analysis. Only available if Construction Stages are enabled in Structure and Loads tabs
- NLE – enable the non-linear elastic analysis for this load combination
- PL – enable the plastic analysis for this load combination
- NLS – enable the non-linear soil analysis for this load combination
- Cr. – enable the cracked section analysis for this load combination
- 2nd – enable the second-order analysis for this load combination
- Im. – write the number of the Imperfection shape to use together with this load combination in the analysis
- Amplitude – set imperfection amplitude. When the Initialize amplitude with steel bars option is selected in the Imperfections analysis dialogue, then this value is filled automatically. This value must be set for a correct 2nd order timber calculation
- Amplitude – set imperfection amplitude. When the Initialize amplitude with steel bars option is selected in the Imperfections analysis dialogue, then this value is filled automatically. This value must be set for a correct 2nd order timber calculation
- GW level – groundwater level value used for soil-related calculations
