Mass
Use the Mass tool to add point mass to elements for dynamic analysis.
When you select the Mass tool from the panel, a new tool palette opens.
Main tools on the tool palette

 | Use Define tool to add a new mass to the model. |
 | Use Properties tool to check properties of existing mass. This will open the Default settings dialogue for the selected load(s). |
 | Use Mass numeric field to enter the value of the mass. |
 | Use Default settings tool to change some settings (read below in more detail). |
Default settings
The Default settings tool opens a new dialogue window.
- Mass - change the value of the mass.
- Comment - add a comment to the mass
- Apply on the eccentric axis/surface - select to apply the mass on an eccentric axis of eccentric surface of a structural element. If unselected, the mass is applied on the centroid axis.
