Assign load to structure
Use the Assign load to structure tool to link loads to specific structural elements in your model.
When you select the Assign load to structure tool, a new tool palette opens.
- Assign load to structure - manually assign selected loads to compatible structural elements. After selecting the tool, click on the load and then on the structural object you want to assign it to
- Remove assignment from the loads - detach previously assigned loads from their parent structural elements
- Automatically assign load if mutually compatible parent object is found - use this option to let the software automatically assign loads to structural elements, based on compatibility
tip
Assigned loads will have their parent structural object listed in the Assigned load column when exporting load data, and are also used for documentation and interoperability with other software.
