Borehole


Use the Borehole tool to insert vertical soil profiles with local soil stratification and optional ground level adjustments.

When you select Borehole, a tool palette opens.

Main tools
  • Define - insert a new borehole or ground level definition
  • Properties - check or edit properties of an existing borehole or ground level element. Depending on whether Borehole or Final ground level is selected. Opens the Default settings dialogue for the selected ground level elements. Opens the soil Default settings dialogue for the selected boreholes to define the stratum
  • Default settings - only when Final ground level is selected. You can use the Default settings to set the default ground level (read below in more detail)

Element selection

For both Define and Properties tools, you have to define which type of element you are adding or changing.

  • Borehole - place a new borehole point with associated soil stratification data
  • Final ground level - define a surface level to represent the local ground elevation
Definition settings
  • Use closest borehole data - only when Borehole is selected. Uses stratification data from the nearest borehole
  • Level - only when Final ground level is selected. Use the numeric field to set a specific elevation for the final ground level


Default settings dialogue

When you press the Default settings button when Final ground level is selected, a dialogue window opens.
