Design results grouping
Design results in FEM-Design are organised into logical groups to help you navigate, filter and interpret results efficiently.
Results are first grouped by design module, matching the design tabs. Each module is then expanded into sub-groups that correspond to the structural element or check type. Within each sub-group, one or more result types can be available, depending on the design settings and model content.
The grouping structure follows the same principles as the design tabs and is directly linked to the design module used.

Main design groups
Design results are divided into the following main groups:
- General design – deflection results shared across all design modules
- Foundation design – results from isolated foundations, wall foundations and foundation slabs
- Concrete design – results from reinforced concrete bar, shell and punching design
- Steel design – results from steel bar, shell model and joint design
- Timber design – results from timber bar, timber panel and CLT panel design
- Masonry design – results from masonry wall design
- Composite design – results from composite column and DELTABEAM design
Each group is described below together with its sub-groups.
General design
This group contains the deflection results, which are identical across all design modules and are not tied to a specific material.
- Deflection – bar and shell deflection results from load combinations and maximum of load combinations
Foundation design
This group contains results from foundation design checks.
- Isolated foundation – utilization results for isolated foundations
- Wall foundation – utilization results for wall foundations
- Foundation slab – settlement and insulation utilization results for foundation slabs
Concrete design
This group contains results from reinforced concrete (RC) design checks.
- RC bar – design forces and utilization results for reinforced concrete bars
- RC shell, longitudinal reinforcement – design forces, required/applied/missing reinforcement, detailing rules, shell buckling and crack width results
- RC shell, shear reinforcement – design forces, reinforcement, shear capacity and utilization results
- RC punching – utilization results for punching shear
- RC concealed bar – internal forces and utilization results for concealed bars
Steel design
This group contains results from steel design checks.
- Steel bar – utilization results for steel bars
- Steel bar, shell model – utilization results for steel bars modelled as shells
- Steel joint – utilization and force results for steel joints
- Steel bar, fire design – utilization results for steel bars under fire design conditions
Timber design
This group contains results from timber design checks.
- Timber bar – utilization results for timber bars
- Timber panel – overall and by-panel utilization results for timber panels
- CLT panel – utilization results for CLT panels
- Timber bar, fire design – utilization results for timber bars under fire design conditions
- CLT panel, fire design – utilization results for CLT panels under fire design conditions
Masonry design
This group contains results from masonry wall design checks.
- Masonry wall – internal forces and utilization results for masonry walls
Composite design
This group contains results from composite design checks.
- Composite column – utilization results for composite columns
- DELTABEAM – utilization results for DELTABEAM elements
Result types within sub-groups
Each sub-group can contain one or more result types, depending on the selected design module and model configuration.
The result types may be further grouped if needed, for example the RC shell, longitudinal reinforcement sub-group has additional groups for required, applied and missing reinforcement, each split by direction (x'/r or y'/t) and position (bottom, top, mid).
