Equivalent loads
The Equivalent loads analysis result shows the static load representation of seismic effects calculated from response spectrum analysis. It displays the forces and moments that would produce equivalent static effects to those generated by the dynamic seismic response.
Equivalent loads are available only for seismic analysis.

Result selection
To display Equivalent loads, you must select the seismic shape from the result option list.
Only the seismic shapes calculated in the seismic analysis are available for selection.
Result display
Equivalent loads use a specialised result display that is fixed for this result type. The loads are visualised using different graphical representations depending on the load component type:

These visualisations allow you to clearly interpret the magnitude, direction and distribution of equivalent static forces and moments representing the seismic response.
Key characteristics of the display:
- straight double lined arrows – equivalent forces (always shown in the level and base shear centers)
- curved double lined arrows – moment due to the fact that resultant force is moved from its center of action to the shear center
- vivid colours – results on the positive direction of the axis (values are positive)
- muted colours – results on the negative direction of the axis (values are negative)
- dark grey colours - resultant vectors
