Level masses
The Level masses analysis result shows the mass distribution across building levels, including mass magnitude and the associated fundamental frequency at each storey. This result helps you evaluate how mass is distributed vertically through the structure and how it relates to the dynamic characteristics of each level.
Level masses are available for following dynamic analysis contexts.
- Eigenfrequencies
- Footfall calculation
- Storey fundamental frequency
Result selection
Level masses do not require any additional result selection.
The result is displayed directly once an eligible analysis has been performed.
Result display
Level masses use a specialised result display that is fixed for this result type.
The results are displayed as symbols positioned at the shear center of each level. A green symbol represents the mass at that location. You can enable the display of numeric labels to show the mass, frequency, and level values directly on the symbol.
Some analysis types also allow the results to be seen in table form next to the result selection options.
This table lists each storey, it's frequency and mass.
