Plastic condition

The Plastic condition result shows the state of individual finite elements in supports where plasticity behaviour has been enabled.

It identifies whether each support element is currently within its elastic range, has reached its plastic limit, or has fully detached from the structure.

Plastic condition is available for the following analysis context:

  • Load combinations

Result selection

To display Plastic condition, you must select:

  • load combination

Only the selections relevant to this result type are shown.

Result display

Plastic condition uses a specialised result display that is fixed for this result type.

The result is shown as a discrete colour palette that assigns one of three condition states to each finite element in the support:

  • Detached – the element has fully separated from the support
  • Plastic – the element has exceeded its plastic limit and is in a plastic state
  • Elastic – the element is within its elastic range
