Normalized dynamic factors

The Normalized dynamic factors analysis result shows the dynamic amplification of the structural response, expressed as a normalized ratio relative to the peak value computed across the full range of the analysis.

It allows you to compare how the response varies across different velocities, load positions, load combinations, or time steps, and to identify the conditions under which the structural response is highest.

Normalized dynamic factors are available for the following dynamic analysis contexts.

  • Moving load dynamic
  • Time history, excitation force
  • Periodic excitation

Result selection

To display Normalized dynamic factors, you must select from one or more of the following, depending on the active analysis type:

  • moving load
  • velocity
  • position
  • combination
  • time step

Only the selections relevant to the active analysis type are shown.

Result display

Normalized dynamic factors uses a colour palette display that is fixed for this result type.

The normalized factor values are visualised as coloured fields across the structural model.
